2025 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting serves as a crucial platform for collaboration and decision-making among members of the Residence Life Professional Association. The meeting aims to review accomplishments, discuss key challenges, and set strategic goals for the upcoming year. A number of awards are presented to some of our most outstanding association members to recognize their success each year. It serves as a forum for sharing best practices, discussing policy updates, and outlining new initiatives in areas such as inclusion, wellness, and professional development. During the Annual General Meeting there are also opportunities to get involved through the elections process for certain Board positions. The AGM is also where the Presidential transition occurs and a new President begins their term. 

Participating in the Annual General Meeting is an integral part experiencing the sense of community the RLPA is known for.

The 2025 General Meeting will be held at the University of Alberta Edmonton campus from March 6 – 7, 2025. More information will be coming soon.

Directions

  • You can find the map and directions for the Annual General Meeting hosted at Olds College here. The on-site accommodations located at the Pomeroy Hotel (#5 on the map). The event space that will be used throughout the conference is Centennial Village (#21 on the map). It is approximately a 10 minute walk between the hotel and the meeting space.

Accommodation (On-Site) The RLPA has a room block booked at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites at Olds College. You can book your hotel room here. Accommodation Cost $129 per night for a Double Queen room. The room has 450sq feet of space including fully equipped demi kitchen. Two queen beds complete with our Hypnos beds topped off with crispy Eden linens and duvet. Stay entertain with free WiFi and a 39” HDTV. A Keurig coffee station will brew that perfect cup of coffee to kick start your day. The block will be released back to Pomeroy Inn & Suites at Olds on February 17, 2024. 2024 RLPA AGM Program Proposals In order to ensure we are offering the greatest professional development opportunities to all attendees, we are reaching out to you all with the opportunity for you to share your expertise and wisdom at the AGM this year! This year we have provided the chance to a full 50-minute presentation or a short, less than 10-minute Sprint Session; there is loads of more information in the Program Proposal form itself. Deadline is Thursday, February 15, 2024, if you have any questions about this please email secretary@rlpa.ca. Thank you for helping us make the AGM the best it can be! You can submit your proposal here. Awards The RLPA is excited to be able to recognize members of our association with our annual awards and scholarship ceremony at the Annual General Meeting. If you have someone that you believe should be recognized for their work in the past year, you can nominate them here. The deadline to nominate or apply for an award/scholarship is February 18, 2024 at 11:59 PM (PT) / 12:59 AM (MT). Meals The following meals will be covered by the cost of your registration:
  • Wednesday, March 13: Light Lunch.
  • Thursday, March 14: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
  • Friday, March 15: Breakfast, To-Go Lunch.
The only meal that will not be covered by the registration fees is during the optional evening social/dinner on March 14, 2024.
